Regina Fonseca Conservative Nursery - Toca da Raposa – was authorized by the Brazilian Environment Institute (IBAMA) in the Year of 2001, with the purpose of contributing with the preservation of the threatened or nonextinction wild fauna.

These animals come to the Nursery through IBAMA and the Environmental Police, coming from traffic, maltreatments, poaching and habitat reduction. They are assisted by biologists and veterinarians and are reintroduced into the nature, whenever possible.

The nursery favors segments of researches, database, conservative information for future maintenance of the biological diversity of each species and also the captivity breeding for reintroducing the species into its natural habitat.
